Hockey Time

My boss has front row tickets to the Everett Silver Tips and is frequently out of town for his son's hockey games...so we get the  opportunity to go see a game every once in a while.  It was a great game, goal in the last minute to tie it up, over time then a goal in the last two minutes to win!  Fun times!!!

31 week comparison

Technically Deven was measuring a little bigger at this point but it's looking pretty on par in comparison.  We had a check up on Monday and everything is great.  Baby sister is measuring right at 31 weeks, has a heart rate of about 130 and feels like she is facing down.  Apparently she is resting right on my bladder...something I definitely knew already!  We have check ups every two weeks now and we will have an ultrasound around 36 weeks to get a better estimate of what her size will be around 40 weeks.  Stay tuned!!

Snow week!

Thanks to Nick's expert driving skills we didn't miss a day of school or work during the snow storm this week.  But this also meant that Deven didn't get to play outside during the day making him certifiable by the end of the day.  Here are some pics of Deven working out the jitters before dinner each night.  We all had a great time, to snow was beautiful, but I'm glad our 10+ inches have begun melting.

Fun at the play ground

We made it to the play ground last week before the sun went down.  It was freezing but it didn't seem to phase him.

29+ weeks

Thought it would be fun to get both kiddos in a picture. I was 29 weeks this last Thursday. This months check up was normal accept I didn't pass my 1 hr glucose test so I go back tomorrow for a 3 hour test. That's three hours with no food for 12 to 14 hours before hand and 4 blood draws. Doesn't sound like a good time to me but gotta do what I gotta do to make sure we stay as healthy as possible. I plan to get some reading done at least...or maybe a nap...hmmm...either way there will be Mexican food involved after my testing. Anyone down town tomorrow is welcome to join in post test feasting!!

Baby sister is measuring right at 29 weeks and has a heart rate of 145. I have excellent blood pressure and still no significant swelling. I'm heading into the home stretch and will be visiting the doc every two weeks from now on. We are in no way ready for her to arrive but I do have a little travel bassinet and a dresser drawer so no matter what she will have a place to sleep! :)

Swimming and snow

Our first swim lesson of the year was today.  Deven had a good time as usual but the snow made for a strange effect.  It's always odd to go swimming when all you see is snow out the windows.  No matter though, after swimming the boys got bundled up for round two in the snow.  It's still dumping up here.  Good thing we all have tomorrow off for MLK Day!!

First snow of 2012

Deven and daddo had a blast yesterday for our first snow of the year.  There was even enough for a snow man, who was of course a hockey snow man.

Our favorite thing

None of us can seem to sit still for too long so when faced with a day with no formal plan we bundled up to make our rounds at the Pike Place Market. Nick and I have vowed to change it up a little bit next time but generally we hit Le Panier for a cappuccino/hot cocoa and a yummy pastry. If they have fresh chullah bread you can guaranty its coming home with us. Next we make a big circle through the market being sure to hit all the fruit stands, smell all the fresh flowers and get a new book from the underground bookstore with the owner that sings to you while you browse. This visit we rocked out to a guitar man, a piano man and a Chinese violin man. By this time a snack is necessary and thus we must stop at the famous Piroshky take away cafe. If weather permits we run around the park and look at the ferry crossings, cranes and inevitable helicopter. Generally a Deven melt down or parental exhaustion tells us it must be nap time and we high tail it home. The rest of the day involves restless free couch and playroom time. LOVE!!

jam session - just how we roll!
