Update !

Deven is almost two.  I'm not sure what to expect for the next year but if the last month is any indication ...nick and I are in for a wild ride.  This kid knows what's going on, what he wants and how to get it.  I've learned a few tricks too though...notice that Deven has chocolate milk in our most resent "momma and Deven treat day" not the pink cake pop he usually commands via, please momma, please momma, please please please!!!
My blogging hasnt been up to par lately but I'm thinking it's because of pure exhaustion after bedtime routine!  Teeth brush wrestling takes a lot of effort.
Devens favorite to date things are:
* the dump truck book - nick and I can both repeat this book by heart...it has mysteriously gone missing this week...
* hockey - this now includes watching it on tv and screaming, "OH MY GOD!"
* mowing - picture nick mowing with Deven in a back pack.  Next picture Deven stealing his bestie Hadley's toy lawn mower and not giving it back for the entire weekend visit...that is until we hid it in the wine cellar.
* coffee treats - this means several things which include: steamed milk, Apple juice, cake pop, or a pumpkin loaf...all SPECIAL treats! ;)
* swimming - Deven has always liked swimming but the last session was crazy fun.  He was constantly laughing and singing and he has even started to understand some basic concepts like reaching and pulling and blowing bubbles.  The blowing bubbles is more just blowing on top of the water but ...
Deven has a few dislikes too:
* sharing - mine is a new word lately.  We've been explaining what "ours" means.
* brushing teeth - see wrestling comment above.
* lemon - he eats almost anything we give him but if it has lemon juice or rind in it he won't even touch it.
* when we don't understand - Deven is talking like mad but sometimes he likes to put words together or make them up entirely.  Waiting for nick and I to get up to speed is not a lot of fun.
We are having a blast with our guy and can't wait to see what he has in store for us next year.
